Issue: Material does not meet substance requirements for classification 1.2.2
Materials classed as 1.2.2 Cast iron with nodular graphite / vermicular cast iron must contain at least 55% Iron (Fe, CAS # 7439-89-6) and at least 2% Carbon (CAS 7440-44-0). The material does not meet one or both of the substance requirements for classification 1.2.2.
Per IMDS Recommendation 001a* – This classification is for iron alloys which contain nodular graphite flakes, and which are used in approximately spherical cast iron parts.
Action Required:
Review the material composition and classification and revise as necessary.
