Issue: Insufficient iron present for classification 1.2
Materials classed as 1.2 Cast iron must containt at least 50% Iron (Fe, CAS # 7439-89-6). The material in question does not contain enough iron to be classified as 1.2.
Please take note that although 1.2 is a classification that can be chosen, it is only applicable to legacy data. In this context, legacy data does not refer to data associated with Legacy Spare Parts. The IMDS Steering Committee members do not have a unanimous agreement on the definition of “legacy” within the context of IMDS Recommendation 001a.* Determining what constitutes legacy is considered a decision made between businesses. To adhere to best practices, it is recommended that MDSs for new Post-SCIP (new) component, semi-components, or materials should not include any pre-SCIP MDSs or modules in their tree structure.
