Issue: Material does not meet substance requirements for classification 1.1.1
Materials classed as 1.1.1 Unalloyed, low alloyed must contain at least 95% Iron (Fe, CAS # 7439-89-6) and must not contain more than 2% Carbon (C, CAS# 7440-44-0). The material does not meet one or both of the substance requirement for classification 1.1.1. Per IMDS Recommendation 001a*, 1.1.1 should be used for steels with a content of at least 95 % iron. Generally, the content is above 98 %.
If the material contains metal oxides or any non-metallic substance, it should not be classified as 1.1.1.
Action required:
Review the material composition and classification and revise as necessary.
