Issue: Material contains more than 10% confidential/wildcard substances
IMDS requires that no more than 10% of the substances in a material be hidden. In other words the sum of all the substances marked confidential plus all wildcards (jokers) in the material cannot exceed 10%. The total is calculated using the highest values in any percentage ranges.
NOTE: in the case of materials made of sub-materials, the 10% cap applies only to the top level material.
Action Required:
Review the material composition and modify to conceal no more than 10% of the substances in the material.
If you have hidden more than 10% of the substances in order to protect trade secret formulations, add an explanatory remark and discuss the issue with your customer to see if they will accept the submission with greater than 10% hidden substances.
