Issue: Material contains a REACH Annex XIV substance
A REACH Annex XIV substance cannot be used in manufacturing in the EU after its sunset date without authorization from the EU.
REACH Annex XIV substances have two important dates associated with them: 1) the authorization date and 2) the sunset date. The authorization date is the date by which any request for permission to continue to use the substance must be made. The sunset date is the date after which you cannot use the substance without authorization.
NOTE: The need for authorization for continued use of an Annex XIV substance, is only pertinent to manufacturing in the EU. if your component/semi-component/material is being manufactured inside the EU, you cannot use the Annex XIV substance after its sunset date. If your component/semi-component/material is being manufactured outside of the EU, you can continue to use the Annex XIV substance and import your item into the EU.
