IMDS DQR code 176

Issue: Child nodes of parent node are of mixed types and no reason for mixed nodes is specified

IMDS normally requires that all child nodes of a given parent node must be of the same type.

To properly calculate the wt/wt percentage for REACH SVHC substances, some materials or semi-components must be attached directly to the component.  Materials or semi-components that are applied directly to an article during manufacturing should be attached directly to that component in IMDS to create a mixed node tree structure.

To use mixed nodes, you must select a reason from the list below explaining why the semi-component or material is allowed as a mixed node. IMDS will display the field whenever a reason is needed.

Action Required:

If the mixed node structure is correct and you have not selected a reason for the semi-component or material nodes in question, select a reason for each one.

If none of the listed reasons apply to your semi-component or material, review your tree structure and correct as necessary to eliminate the mixed nodes.

If your tree does not contain non-REACH-article nodes, then you may need to insert dummy nodes to make the tree structure conform to the same type of child node requirement.
